The annual Today's Pilot Where To Fly Guide will help prospective pilots to choose a school and assist current pilots in finding aircraft for hire.

There are hundreds of flying clubs and schools in the UK and most of these provide training towards a Private Pilots License (PPL). One of the first choices you have to make is which school to use - although in some parts of the country the choice is limited. This online list of clubs will hopefully lend a hand in making the decision of where to start.

The entries: There are about 350 entries in this guide and the data included has been provided by the various flying clubs. Information was correct at time of going to press. As you read through the various entries, you may observe what appear to be inconsistencies - is this the price per hour? Does it include VAT? The simple answer is that you will have to confirm the exact costs and what is involved with the club yourself.

How to use this online guide:

  • You can search through the records by using the UK map to the right of this page by clicking on a region, the results are listed by county then club name.
  • Alternatively search more specifically by club name or county by using the search form below
